How has the evolution of technology and citizen journalism changed the news? | Yahoo Answers

The biggest change is that the mainstream press can no longer squash stories that are inconvenient for them. Read up on how the press helped hide evidence of President Roosevelt's paralysis for a real eye-opener. Back in 1998, the mainstream press was all ready to ignore the Monica Lewinsky story, but a web site (the Drudge Report) broke the story, and the rest is history.
Frankly, this can only be a good thing. Sunlight is the best disinfectant.
